If you buy Pokémon cards at Target, you'll now have to buy them somewhere else because Target just announced that they will pull the products from shelves nationwide. The news comes after a group of four men assaulted a 35-year-old man as he left the store with several boxes of sports trading cards at location in Wisconsin. Trading cards of all sorts regained popularity during the pandemic which made it more and more common to find lines in front of Target locations on Friday mornings, which is when the cards are put on shelves. Target released a statement saying,
“The safety of our guests and our team is our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve decided to temporarily suspend the sale of MLB, NFL, NBA and Pokémon trading cards within our stores, effective May 14. Guests can continue to shop these cards online at Target.com.”
