If you bought an artificial Christmas tree last year, you might want to check it because more than 100,000 pre-lit artificial Christmas trees have been recalled. The Home Depot announced that the recall is due to a potential fire hazard and the manufacturer is offering free replacements. The Home Accents Holiday artificial Christmas trees were sold between June 2019 and December 2019 for between $80 and $360. The recalled trees had a metal base stand and a foot pedal controller to turn the lights on and off. The recall was issued when there were reports of the foot pedal overheating, causing burns and fire hazards. The trees affected by this recall were sold exclusively at The Home Depot and it affect 7.5-foot and 9-foot trees.
