As the investigation into Liam Payne's death continued, three people have reportedly been apprehended in connection with the case.
According to The Mirror, "investigators are said to have detained three people of interest." Additionally, ABC World News reports that two out of the three people who have been detained are hotel workers from the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Payne fell to his death from his hotel balcony. David Muir told the outlet, "Police detained two hotel workers accused of supplying the drugs, and raided the home of a friend, also detained."
Furthermore, according to La Nacion, Liam's friend, who presented himself as the star's manager, was charged with abandonment for not getting in touch with Payne's family following his drug relapse. The hotel and employee and alleged drug dealer have also been charged in supplying Payne with narcotics.
Payne was found dead at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina after falling from the balcony of his third floor room into the courtyard. According to CNN, a preliminary autopsy report shows that the former One Direction singer died from multiple injuries causing "internal and external hemorrhage." Drug paraphernalia was found in Liam's hotel room, and a toxicology report shows that "pink cocaine" was found in his system — a very dangerous drug cocktail.
Payne was just 31 years old, and leaves behind his seven-year-old son Bear, who he shares with ex Cheryl Cole.
